I am returning to a water in Northants where I got 16 pike on Monday and Daz had 6 we lost count of how many takes we had, all on flies.
Anyone free for a try tomorrow Friday?

Ohh , nice one lads! Wish I could go ! Got 8 pike biggest only 7-8lbs, lost 3 and had loads of pike hitting the flies but as they are long I think they are coming up short. I actually saw a couple just nip the last 3 inches just short of the hook but when I tried smaller flies they did not want to know. I saw a massive shoal of bream all look alb or bigger, I will definitely try for them. Terry

It may be worth adding a trailing hook to some of the flies, which seemed to work better, if they were some of mine, let me know and I will try to adapt a couple to take a second hook or make it with an articulated shank which will place the hook 50mm further back.
I will try to join you if I can soon.

I think I really benefited from several sessions at Rudyard in the wind. Although I am not breaking records with distance I am getting the fly where I want it and the results are coming.
As you say it is addictive and I think you can get more fish from a swim as the disturbance is so minimal compared to a lure dropping on their heads and the fight is tremendous.
Just a taster.

The new rod seems to do the business very well indeed Terry.
What do they call this venue, I want to look it up on the internet.
