Right lads I have been chatting with Karl Weaver, a qualified Game Fishing Coach, who with his friend like to fly fish for trout from their kayaks.
Karl is a regular at Rutland and has run instructional sessions there for fly casting. Karl tells me the there are quite a few trout anglers who have either taken to kayak or are considering them. Their problem, like ours, is access to fisheries.
So I have agreed with Karl that as part of my negotiations with Anglian Water I, with his help, will try and broaden the access debate to include fly fishermen on kayaks for trout. This is an ongoing process which is slow but will hopefully accelerate during the next couple of months.

Wimbleball, Roadford, Toft and a place in N. Wales that I can't remember the name of all have fly fishing for trout for kayakers available - Wimbleball we had a big meet there that John & helen organised a few years back - we had a tremendous storm the night afterwards that wrecked several tents! Dizzy still goes there from time to time he says.

I've had a couple of trips to Wimbleball over the last couple of years along with Dizzy, great fishing and have been lucky with the weather. Hoping to get back there in a few weeks time when it warms up. Be great if a few more venues opened up, good luck Terry

Fenland fisheries at Earith allow kayaks, trout stocked with other natural species there.

From what I've heard they're after increasing revenue through angling so I may get round to making some formal enquiries soon. They've allowed winter trout fishing this year for the first time etc so now might be a good time to ask

I fish fly at Toft Newton off the yak. But having trouble finding other trout waters that will allow kayaks.Crazy really as they allow 'blow up arm chairs' (float tubes) ........ wich are obviously much safer ..... NOT !!!

Anglian will allow trout fishing for kayaks. All the rules that apply to predator fishing apply. Terry
