Here are a couple of pictures from a recent trip some of us were invited on. This is a private lake in the Cotswolds that is very rarely fish, The perch have bulked up in weight as there is a plague of Red Signal Crayfish. These crays are all over the Cotswolds where there are 100 or more lakes. This is the potential of these waters so if you get the chance to fish one TAKE IT !! These lads did. Charlie Fishwish with 5lb 4ozs Dane Wood with one going 4lb 15ozs.

I wish! This was a special one off with very limited numbers. I don't know if it will ever happen again. Not an easy water 30 fished and 18 blanked!

I thought it was easy 3lb 2oz and new pb 85 cm pike on a Mark Houghton 100mm Fat Belly Shad crankbait in real perch. Nice new light lure rod for longest pike. And 1st place with a new Helix5 di FF ....All jokes aside, as Terry said if you got a perch it was a stonker, mine was the smallest at 3lb 2oz, it was a pleasure to see the faces of grown men will true excitement and shaky hands Lol, i really hope we can get another day set up in the future

"mine was the smallest at 3lb 2oz" Wow !! When you see the next record Perch on the cover of the angling weeklies, the chances are it came from there. What a venue!! I suspect opportunities to fish it will be few and far between. Of course, for us lesser mortals we kayakers have a (slightly larger) venue on hand with the same food source North of the border. See you all on October 1st

Stone the crows, that fish of Charlie's makes my monster perch of 4lb 9oz last year not so big after all. Well done all those who caught and those that didn't, well at least you had the privilege to fish a very private water.

Make no mistake, that fishery is very, very special. I'm right in saying that two 5lb + Perch (4lb 15oz is close) came out on the same day ? That is the equivalent of two 40lb + Pike being caught on the same day !! Wow !!
