Don't take any crap from the 'gentleman' across the river from the slipway!!! Having said that I think he owns the fishing right to his bank so be wary if you tether to the scaffold tunes on that side of the river. Terry

Hello, not sure is this forum still active but i would like to ask few questions.Firstly what permissions or license required to do a kayak fishing on this area you all talking about? And is inflatable 2 man boat is considered as a kayak or inflatable rubber boat requires a different license, permissions? I have checked angling club who owns the stretch and there is no information about kayak fishing on this farndon stretch so maybe its not allowed anymore?(hope i am wrong:D).And if it still allowed to fish the stretch can anyone put a picture with marks where the stretch starts and where it ends. Thanks

Hi,
It is still fishable so long as you have a Notts AA season ticket and an Environment Agency Rod Licence. You also need a Navigation Permit from either the Angling Trust or the BCU.
An inflatable kayak is still a kayak but unless it is a good quality craft and not a cheap Aldi or Ebay special I would avoid fishing from it. Please make sure you have all the safety gear too as the Trent can be a cold, deep and fast flowing river that has taken careless anglers lives in the past.
Fishing is from the launch point to a point about 3/4 mile upstream where power lines cross the river.
