Wanna do some trotting on the centrepin this summer. I need to get a new float but is there anything kayak friendly? Found my old one a bit long when used in my kayak before. Cheers

I used a Shakespeare Sigma 8' feeder rod that comes with 2 or 3 tips. I have used this rod for feeder but more so float fishing and even now use it from the bank. At £25 it is fantastic, I even bought another last year because my wife and daughter always want to use it when we are on holiday in Suffolk. DO NOT be put off because it is a Shakespeare, this little rod has landed quite a number of carp to around 15lb, all the small stuff, a few bass and one or two small pike. I promise that you will not be disappointed with one of these. Phil PS Sorry, there have gone up to £38.99 at Glasgow Angling www.fishingmegastore.com/shakespeare-sigma-feeder-rods~21506.html

One thing to remember is that normally the 12/13ft rod is used from the bank to offer more control when trotting, especially for mending the line. You don't have this problem anywhere near as much on the yak as you usually trot straight down from the yak. Terry
