As most of you know, I have not had a kayak for about 6 years, swapping over to a SIB for my fishing afloat but I sold that a couple of years ago so ony fishing from the shore both sea and fresh water. Last weekend, my youngest daughter said she would like to get the Ocean Kayak Mysto that we still own on the water, which, at present is tucked away behind the garage. Now this started a conversation which ran to her boyfriend taking the Mysto and my daughter wanting a camo pink Galaxy Cruz.
Hmmm, my thinking cap went on here as the thoughts of kayaks being used again made me think about one for me but not a big kayak more like a Fat Yak or some 10-11ft kayak for messing around on along with a bit of fishing but nothing too serious. Well the computer keyboard has been working in a frenzy this morning slowly bringing myself up to speed with what is out there.......................oooer, they have shot up in price. If possible I would really like a Tarpon 100 or something similar but first things first. After my holiday, I have agreed to get the kayak down to the beach and get it and me wet again to see if I still enjoy the process. At the same time, let my daughter and her boyfriend have a good play on the Mysto to see if this is a flash in the pan or perhaps some serious interest.
I must admit it would be nice for them both to enjoy kayaking which having a shallow beach only half an hour away will offer them a safe place to go for a few hours enjoyment and now they have cars, I don't have to be the taxi service which is a bonus.
Time will tell. I am not sure anyone will read this as the forums seem to be a very quiet place nowadays in favour of facethingy which I don't do so perhaps someone will be here to comment, maybe even Terry, who knows.
