Well having looked, looked and looked again its getting rather confusing as to what is required for drop shotting. I have a light rod and fixed spool reel loaded with braid which i`m thinking i could use interim, also as mentioned on the other thread i think its advisable at least for me to use a wire trace. Lures is where its really confusing i have some worms and other assorted jellies from some time spent in the states but these are aimed at bass,I have been looking at these www.agmdiscountfishing.co.uk/2.25%22-live-baby-shad-pumpkin/chartreuse-pepper-(15pcs)-p-3146.htmlWould these be ok for starters obviously a mix of colours then expand the collection as it progresses further. ;D

I wish I could offer sensible words of advice but like you I am on that long learning road. Hopefully we will all progress and share our successes and failing.

The kit arrived the other day but only got chance to open it today. I had thought the plastics might have been too big but the biggest are 4.5 inches and they certainly have a lot more action than the ones I tried before. Hopefully might squeeze an hour in later on the local pond so we will see.

Well I can without doubt say use wire!!!! Just used the smaller rubbers on 8lb line in a spot I know produces perch, however it seems the pike were hungry.
Let's just say it only took 2/3 casts and really slow retrieves with tiny twitches and an old 15lb in a bad state comes towards the side.......
I move and 10 minutes later a 7ish comes towards the side.....
Gutted isn't the word.
