As many of you knoe I fish the Trent and love to use the stick float.
Well I managed to get some serious stck floats from Nathans of Derby and some decent feeders too.
The problem I have had is that although I can feed a perfect line by anchoring correctly and presentation is near perfect. My problem was that because of the pace and depth I was not catching fish for at least the first 25 yds. Well I was at a Canal and Rivers Trust Advisory Group meeting today and spoke with Dave Turner the Notts AA secretary. He came up with two very simple but effective solutions: 1. A bait dropper 2. Bog pipe special, yrs the white tube that they use for some of the rod rest mods, about 1 1/2" diameter. A 6-8 ft length pushed straight down into the water and then just drop the maggots down it.
Both very simple and effective. I will be trying them out and not having to trot down so far in future. ;D
