I've just got my first sit on and was wondering if there is anyone else in Kent who goes fishing from one and would be up for meting in the new year. Phil.

Perhaps it would be worth your while meeting up with the sea fishermen because they will be able to advise on how to set up your kayak and get a few trips out with them to gain very valuable experience. The principles of kayak safety and procedure are the same for both sea and fresh water so whatever you learn from the sea fishermen, you will be able to apply to fresh water use apart from the actual gear used and methods. Paddling with others will help your confidence by huge amounts and your learning curve.
Good luck and enjoy
Phil
