All you guys plugging and spinning for perch and pike could use the fly. For the pike on rivers i would use a 9ft/9 1/2ft wt 8-9-10 with flies between 4 and 8 inches long. Tie your flies on quality sea hooks as takes can be quite vicious. Check ebay for pike flies, this will give you some idea of patterns used. Its good to catch fish on the fly but even better on your own tied flies. Some fish this method more than any other with fantastic results. Some good youtube clips. Steve

Steve I am surrounded by flounder over here and would really love to catch them on the fly. I will give you a call to pick your brains if I may, I think I still have your number.

Phil 7#9 rod, sinking line10ft leader. Flies tied with chain link eyes, this gets them down hook point up so you are not foul hooking. The eyes keep the fly moving around instead of coming streight in. Every fish is lip hooked. We found this more productive than worm baits and the fish were good sized as well. Steve
