Anybody planning on entering the Llangorse Competition? Just wondering what guys are doing regarding overnight accommodation. I never fished Llangorse but it sounds like a very good venue, although it will probably be tough fishing .

Where abouts is this venue. I have spent a fortune on salt water gear over the past few years now it looks like I'm going to do the same again for this fresh water activity.

It's a 320 mile round trip for me, so it's going to be a case of an overnight stay for me. If the weather plays ball it will be a great event. Two days freshwater kayak angling on a new venue, can't wait!

The cost of travel is a big obstacle when it comes to organising freshwater kayak competitions. Unfortunately we have limited venues suitable / allowed access too, therefore I feel freshwater competitions will take a while to develop and become established. I'll keep plugging away with my Grand Slam Challenge, always looking for venues around Manchester that are suitable and allow kayak anglers on. A venue near or around Birmingham would probably be the most central and best location for a competition, but alas nobody has either found a venue or wants to organise a kayak competition. Maybe something for the future!

It may be a challenging event but it will be great to meet up with new and old faces.
Regardless of the fishing it's a day on the water.

Looking forward to this one, will probably head up Thursday evening or early Fri morning. Although this is predominately a pike water i'm keen to have a crack at the other species.
