I might try to get a session in on the lower Dee near Chester. Some nice water to paddle there, and good chance of a decent Pike. Time is ticking though, time off work, family commitments, and weather all have to come right in the next 10 days ! Here's hoping we all get chance to get out.

Saved by the bell. I have just arranged to have a rod testing session with Simon of the Pike Shack on his local venue next Wednesday. I am looking forward to this as I will have one of the top pike fly men in the uk all to myself and try a few rods one of which I will buy for use both on the bank and on the kayak. I know I'm not on the kayak but on this occasion, I don't care.

And now they are forecasting snow and freezing temperatures. This has been a lousy Winter for me....in fact the Summer with all the floods was even worse. Roll on June 16th it has gotta be better.....mind you I will be in Crete when the new season opens.....Roll on July.

To say it is an Easterly blowing, I am surprised that we have not had the snow in any volume or am I speaking too soon. I may well regret saying that.

the veiw from our back it's ment to be spring You can keep that Daz well i made the decision to give it a go tried a little water i knew would be sheltered but boy was it cold and windy then it snowed a little tried several spots but never had a touch in any of them then it started to snow again so decided its to call it a day. Roll on the 16th and sunshine ;D I'm with you on that

Our local river looked perfect yesterday evening and it didn't seem we had much in the way of rain yesterday or last night so was looking forward to todays session. When i arrived this morning was gutted to say the least as looked at a brown river and although i know its warmer down here in the south, it was still a good few degrees colder. Had to give it a go, all i could catch were loads of trout which i thought would be the last species i'd catch in those conditions. Started to chuck it down with sleet so called it a day on a disappointing end to the season. Roll on June 16th indeed.
