As with all clothes, try them on first. If you are buying from the internet, most men are large or ex large. We sell some industrial gloves into the printing industry and 90% of the sales are those two sizes. You should consider pre bent gloves if they are only for paddling or as I did, cut the fingers off a pair of neoprene gloves to allow for flexing.

Strange as it seems I never wear gloves when paddling even in Jan on the Trent when it was -5. Blood flow seems to keep them warm, it is when anchored that I start to feel it. Mind you my PFD has hand warmer pockets and that helps.
As Phil says try before yoy buy. I have tried XL and L in the same shop and they were the same size!! I am not sure how rigid the sizes are between brands.

I only need gloves for the cold since I had to start taking drugs lol my blood is like dish water now. Love to go try some on but it's the time more than anything?
It's the same with boots I would like some boots that go on with the dry suit but how do you go about that walk in wearing the suit pmsl. I know I am a size 8 but I bought some cheap size 9s and wish I had got tens , not too concerned because they were peanuts and just needed to protect feet in typhoo dry suit . But when I get a good pair I want them to fit well.so I'm thinking tens?
