Just thought I'd show you the reels I will be using for my summer ultra light fishing. In the middle is a Shimano 8000 i use for my winter Piking to give some scale, both reels are loaded with 10lb braid and will be used with 7ft and 6ft ugly stick rods. Nice and light and I can work this set up all day drop shotting and jigging with ease. All the best John

They look meaty handles on those reels John. What brand are the reels?

Hi Phil - yes very light not weighed them but fully spooled probably around 6- 8 oz
Hi Terry - one on the right is Shimano Sienna which will take 80 yards of 8lb line, the one on the left is bass pro microlite which takes 85 yards of 6lb line both have plenty of grunt, certainly enough for anything our rivers can throw at them.
All the best John

I had a Sienna, lovely little reel BUT don't take it on the salt, it won't get to the third trip before it needs a complete strip, clean and regrease even with corrosion block on it.
