Hi all I was hoping to get out and do a bit of kayaking Sunday or Monday, now that I can ;D. I was wondering if any of you lads could point me in the right direction of a few venues I could try. I would be coming from Essex so I don't know these areas that well, so I was hoping if you could put me right on somewhere to park and areas im allowed to fish. I will be targeting pike and zander. In my pre kayak days, I have fished around Ely, and along the ten mile bank, but im not sure if im allowed to venture out in a kayak here. Don't want to get into trouble for going somewhere im not allowed. As said I don't know these areas that well so it would be nice if you could give me something to put in the sat nav and tell me somewhere to park the car where it would be safe. Im not asking for your secret hotspots, just somewhere that anyone can go. I thought it would save me a lot of hunting round on the day and give me more fishing time Thanks for reading ATB Neil.

Last season I fished the KLAA Ten Mile Bank stretch and they were ok, though they like you to have BCU membership. I launched at Denver slipway. I didn't do spectacularly well though, averaging about one pike per trip plus a few perch. I trolled plugs along the lillies.

I don,t think any rivers fished especially well last year. Ely is free fishing and you can launch in town centre, going downstream is Coopers ac , very nice people, £4 or 5 day ticket or £10 for the year and their bit goes down next to the EA entrance, we fished it last year as a meet but only had a couple but a friend who fishes it afternoon and into the evening says that the Zander seem to come on in a bunch, when their on the feed their on ! the week after we fished it they had 14 zander in one session , but around 18.00 to19.30 ,they had not caught all afternoon.
