I tried this some time ago. Problems: Only good for shallow soft bottomed waters. Takes some doing to drive the pole in and then getting it out can be hard work. You really need two to keep the kayak stable for float or ledger fishing. Then becomes awkward to get them far enough apart and tie off to them. They have to be in deep to stop any flexing.
Perhaps some form of screw on the end would help with clay and hard bottom and ease the removal.
I hope someone can perfect this, I just used broomstick handles.

I think the first example is power driven so you just press a button until it reaches base camp.

Just watch the videos, it is a sophistacated bit of kit but I cannot find a price.
I bet it is not cheap and I wonder if a UK angler would get value from it. Ideal for the American bass men though.
