Hi to all - I am a 45 year old fresh water lure only angler who lives in Hull. I have just recently purchased my first kayak after spending the last few years fishing local rivers and canals from my aluminium boat.
The reason I bought my kayak is that I usually struggle to get out at the weekends due to family and work so I needed a vessel I could easily take out on my own during the days I get off mid week. My usual boat partners can only fish weekends as a rule.
If there is anyone out there in my area who wants to hook up and do some yak fishing with me and some boat fishing if it takes your fancy then please get in touch.
I am also looking for other venues in my area. My usual venues currently are The Derwent, Ouse and the River Hull / Driffield Navigation.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Nice that you found us.
We have a few guys from your area. Philpot, Esoxuk Yorkpiker , Gbthejoiner to name a few.
I know the Ouse, Trent and Ancholme are popular haunts. Lure fishing is really popular from the yak
I am sure the lads will comment soon. Good to see you mate.

Hello matey
I am just over the river in Goxhill, 10 mins from the Humber Bridge. I fish the local river Ancolme and a lake in Scunthorpe as well as the Humber.
I am going on holiday on Sat for two weeks but when I get back you are very welcome to join us on our trips. If you have any issues kitting out your kayak, you can bring it to me and we will get you sorted.
Welcome to our world.
Phil

Hi again
Thanks for the replies. I am ok at the moment with kit. I have set up an anchor trolley and good anchor set up. I have a fishfinder set up on a mobile bracket for my boat. I am toying with the idea of trying to utilise this instead of buying another one for my yak.
Thanks for the offer though and I will definitely join you for some trips in the near future.
Phil, is it Ashby Ville lake? I sent you a message on kayak fishing shack regarding that venue and you directed me here. I would like to know if this lake holds many predators and if so how to access it.
Cheers Ian

Hi Ian
Yes it is Ashby Ville Lake. Access is from J4 on the M180 or over the bridge head for scunny, up one junction, turn right scunny, left at next roundsbout, down to the bottom of the hill, entrance is just past 3 brown road signs just before the next roundabout.
Pull in on left right into the lake where there is a slipway. Park there and off you go. The balif, John, drives a silver Vauxhall Frontera. £5 for the day or £40 for the year.
Pike, perch and a good head of silvers. This time of the year there will be the carp boys there as there are some big carp in there, just keep out of their way. If there are jet skies running just have a nice word with them and they always give us space to get up the lake which is where you want to be.

Wouldn't mind a go at sea but not really geared up for it. Probably could get away with mackerelling. Not got a ship to shore, flares, etc, and don't think I would do enough of this type of fishing to justify more outlay.

If you go out with a couple of buddys you can get away without flares and radio so long as you stay in close contact.
