I have got approval from CFPAS, Cambridge fish preservation and angling society to fish on there waters. You can join for the rest of the season at half price £17.50 at the moment ,or day ticket from local shop or bailiffs at £6. The chairman would prefer membership as it makes it far easier for the bailiffs. Membership or tickets can be bought at . - Cooper & son carlton way Cambridge ,cb4 2da , - The bait box, over Rd Willingham cb25eu ( near Erith ) , - Farringtons ,ferry lane Chesterton ( near cam slipway ,50 yrds ! )
The club river waters only NO lakes or gravel pits !!
That's aprox 30 miles of river, good pike perch and zander ,with catfish and flatfish in the tidal region of the new Bedford.!
The club were very open to my approach and this is some very good fishing ,they do not allow boat fishing at all ,but listened to my points and were very quick to say yes to kayak fishing being allowed ,thats not common! so anyone fishing these waters please respect the fact that we are an unknown and this first year is very important. WE WANT A SECOND !
You can go online to view detail of there rivers that would suit us but the old Bedford and the cam are good fishing. The Cam can be fished below baitsbite lock by launching there,a stream inlet next to the parking area is where I launch, 3 miles downstream , tree covered edges and lillies ,but some rowers too.
Cambridge city ,slipway is in front of the Green Dragon pub, water st .Chesterton, wide and deep ,good fishing , the pub is 10 yrd from the slip and the tackle shop- farringtons -is 50 yrds , good pike in the winter due to the warm town water I suppose .
The old Bedford is easiest launched onto at Erith bridge, large car park and slightly muddy ! slipways by the bridge , 22 miles downstream ! its wide and deep , the first seven miles good allround fishing ,good pike , after that it better for zander than pike ,don't know why !
The club are online for you to check them out , I will take some photos a nd put them up when I get a spare minute ,
