I used to love a boat on Rutland especially if I found a shoal of perch for some fun.

I have always felt that the operation at Rutland seems a bit anal compared with nearby Eyebrook or Elinor (which are not Anglian Water). For example they wont let juniors boat fish, but their is no problem at either of the other venues. Elinor I think allows "float tubing" or whatever its called and so might be a possible kayak venue. Anglian Water's Ravensthorpe fishery in Northants also allows float tubing and might be another possibility. I've only fished Ravensthorpe once, but thought it was well good.
