Well it looks as if the Trent is dropping and may be in fine fettle for me to have an afternoon session Saturday or Sunday. If my shads come from Glasgow I can give them a try at the same time....I am going stir crazy. Just hope the weather forecast is right and no more rain to come. Terry

Bl00dy typical. I really need to do some fishing...Frozen shoulder improving slightly, been a pin cushion for blood tests and BP checks. Just started on statins and BP pills so I wanted to end the week on a positive. Looks like I will have to take the missus out instead.

Sounds like The Humber Phil which is why I always anchor from the front so I can see what is heading towards me. Phil

Still dropping according to EA, may have one last look in the morning and if it is still going down I just might risk the afternoon, if it's still up I will just have a paddle upstream or down to the marina entrance.

Went to Farndon, could not resist nipping into Future Fishing on the way. When I asked about the Trent levels I got the old 'sharp intake of breath', and the comment 'ouch and go mate!'
Sadly when I got to the water's edge insted of the 18"-24" up it was nearer to 36"-40". Still a few bits of debris coming through and the basin was swirling like crazy.
Not really worth it for at least a couple of days I would guess. Oh well at least I got to the waters edge and I got some Cannelle Wondertress to try for traces.

Even the very sedate River Ancolme was the colour of mud today when I drove over the bridge so no lures in there me thinks.

A few weeks of frosts would be good, it would give the rivers chanceto go down

Frosts tend to slow the draining effect down and hold the water back.
I like a good frosty spell too as it knocks the weed back.

I tend to think of frost as a necessary evil, only want them on days when I have to work, preferably in a nice warm shop !
