I have been wanting to fit a rod rest on the bows of the Jackson Kayak Cuda 14 for a while and I finally got round to it today, I wanted to use some track to fit it but I did not want to pay the high price of track 'designed' for kayaks and attracting a price that matches. After a bit of searching I found this stuff. Priced at £6 for about 2ft. www.axminster.co.uk/ujk-technology-universal-t-track#bottomsectionVery similar profile to branded track only the channel is slightly narrower, easily sorted by grinding the sides of the 'T' bolt plate. So I cut a length to suit the a flat area on the bow area of the Cuda. Made two simple back plates from chapping board, two bolts and Nylock nuts and the essential sealant. Two holes drilled with easy access to the inside from the bow hatch. A blob of sealant on each hole and on the backing board. Bolts through and tighten up track sorted. Next I got a standard bank stick and worked out how high I wanted the rest to sit, Then I flattened a 3 inch section out and set an angle on it. A quick drill hole in the flattened section to take the Ram ball mount. The handy thing was that with the addition of some tape to thicken the diameter of the bankstick I could use the handle bar mount for the Garmin Virb camera to give an alternate camera angle. I am pleased and I think I will fit another section on the other side of the hatch later. Terry
