Hello everybody, new to the Forum and new this year to Kayak fishing. So far fished in both fresh and saltwater with Heroes on the Water Uk but I'm now fully kitted out to go it alone on freshwater, I have fished from bank and boat since a child but as said quite new to this side of the sport.
Neil.

Welcome aboard Neil, you are among friends here. Don't hesitate to ask questions as I'm sure there will be plenty as you get further into the sport. What part of the country are you from.

Welcome aboard Neil, you are among friends here. Don't hesitate to ask questions as I'm sure there will be plenty as you get further into the sport. What part of the country are you from. Phil Cheers Phil, I'm from Rochdale but as Terry says my ugly mush has been know to pop up on the Yorkshire Coast, The Lakes, South Wales and the South coast in the past 10 months. So far the guys I have met and a few of them a couple of times have been more than helpful which has been a pleasant surprise, along with advice I have been offered the use of equipment by guys that really didn't know me from Adam when for one reason or another we found ourselves short, right up to a full outfit in Flamborough from the guys at the Kayak Fishing Shack when Paul from HOW's van broke down leaving me Yak-less for the event. That is something you don't come across too often in the coarse fishing world, now its all about getting some more experience.

Everybody talks about what people have contributed to the whole HOW setup but it should also be said the you guys have also contributed a lot. Friendship, banter and educating us about what really happens , not just TV and press reports. . Not to forget the fishing reports. HOW is a great charity and Paul needs applauding for introducing some great guys to our sport. Terry

Yes he has a lot to answer for , I was planning to spend the money on a shiny new engine for the big boat but no, I now have a shiny new kayak chained to the big boat. Though to be honest it has been a wonderful first year with some great days out up and down the country. HOW really are a fantastic set up and I hope they go from strength to strength over the next few years, I'm sure he will lead many more astray given the addictive nature of the sport and I hope me and my good lady Debbie can help out where ever we can as he does it. Though I have a feeling if its as cold as last year I might be camping in Llangorse next year on my own..
