I've sent a couple of emails to them about the use of kayaks but to no avail so I thought a visit in person is needed and it would be rude not to take one of their boats out for a fish! Anybody want to join me? Rainbow, blue and brown trout is what's stocked in but there's masses of perch and pike and other coarse fish and they let you fish "any method" (except live and deads). Was just going to take the drop shot and spinning rod.

A few years now I think. Had a few nice trout on spinners and some perch but thought it would be a great place to christen the drop shot rod and try some trolling.

I have called Bewl Water couple of weeks ago to enquire about kayak fishing as it's under new management now so I was hopeful. The answer I've got was that yes - they allow you to use your own kayak on the water, BUT you have to have BCU 2 star award as minimum and you can only use it in the designated area, and NO, you can not fish from it, they only allow fishing from their own boats I only had a brief conversation with them over the phone though, so not all is lost, might try and arrange a meeting with a member of management when I'll have more time and try to convince him the matter is worth having a look at.

Give me a shout if I can be of any help. Can even bring my kayak and safety gear to show them. I don't think they realise our kayaks are sit on tops which gives them the health and safety worries

Tell them that Anglian have now agreed to allow access to Rutland, Pitsford and Ravensthorpe plus the WPC event on Grafham.
Anglian is one of the biggest water companies and has one of the strictest H&S Departments. If they are taking us them other fisheries should accept that we are a worthwhile option for investment free revenue.
