I think that is all there is at the moment Shaun,
I know Ed has been frantically trying to sort out prizes.
I think it's the usual format so anything you saw for last years event will be the same this year.
Sadly, well not too sad, I cannot make it this year I will be sunning myself on a small island off the Dominican Republic. All inclusive hotel, no kids and premium brand spirits. The hotel is the only thing on the island which is under a mile long and they have kayaks so a lure and a fly rod will be going on the plane with me.
So mate enjoy the wind, rain and cold Oh and the great company.
Terry

When will we be able to book on Terry ?
Do you have to be a member of SWKA ?
March 19th is the date I have penciled in my diary, no booking info though.

I won't miss the wind from last year mate. Jonah Ed will be announcing all the details as soon as possible. He has been extremely busy of late and wants to get all the sponsors sorted first. He was at the boat show last weekend seeing people. He has collared a Dragonfly 5 at least but it could end up as a 7. You don't have to be a member of SWKA they welcome all comers, even Scousers and Jocks. I will copy the full details onto this forum as soon as they are published. It really is worth the trip, try and get down for a practice day if you can. There is a club house and a cracking pub 10 minutes walk away where lots of the lads go for great food in the evenings. The swka lads are all undesirables so it would be wrong of them to discriminate. I've booked work off for the practice day but If the weathers crap I'll sack it off and have a lie in and just turn up to fish the comp haha

Yup! A poor alternative to a wet and windy lake in the Brecon Beacons.

Yup! A poor alternative to a wet and windy lake in the Brecon Beacons. This "Wanna go fishing" section should be called ... "Wanna go fishing where Terry goes fishing"

Fly rod with some poppers then a light lure rod with some lures and perhaps some Sabikis to try and catch bait fish and see if anything is playing.

I have some of those Phil. Brought them from Poland a couple of years ago after nicking one out of Daz's lure selection. Like Cleethorpeks? I was thinking more Skegvegas. Terry

As it happens the last time I was at Bala was when I caught that trout. I keep meaning to go back there but it's a big water with not so many fish and every time I think about going I get overwhelmed and shoot for a safer option. To make the problem worse; not a lot of people fish it so theres no reports to spur you on to have a go and there's no info to be found on how to approach it. I'm just gonna have to man up and fish it again, the rewards are there to be had for those stupid enough to try

The lake record for Pike is 33lb with a good head of Perch to go at.
Bala would make a good venue for a meet.
Nice camp site with excellent access to the lake

Rudyard can really come into it's own in the Spring. A lot of the pike move up into the shallows for spawning. The negative can be that as water levels are high the muddy shallows can colour the water there if the wind gets up. Having said that it really is worth a visit with shallow lures or even better a pike fly outfit. My best is only 12b there but I do love fishing Rudyard.

Your 12lb pike was the day a few of us went up there if I remember correctly Terry about 3 years ago. Perhaps a spring trip and I will take the RIB with the smaller engine as I do fancy a return visit, lovely place just not on my door step but worth another visit I think. We might even be able to get Deerphil with us even if he only has a couple of hours, you can come in the boat with me Phil.
What say you............

Right it is a plan then chaps and it is a bloody good reason to see you lot again. I need to check with the ranger to see if powered boats are still able to launch on a day ticket basis. I love it when a plan comes together. I will put a notice up nearer the time or if I forget Terry, perhaps you can. Time to sort out a few of these. and not forgetting this one Phil Phil PS. Can I have a 'pedal' on your Hobbie please Terry, always wanted one of those babies.
