Hi, anyone down south fancy fishing Ardingly reservoir this weekend? Just called them and they do allow fishing from kayaks, providing you have an insurance and safety equipment. They do, however have a closed season for predator fishing from 30th April to 1st October, so it's pretty much now or never £7 launching fee and £11 day ticket for fishing.

I wish you did Andy is away this weekend and I'm away next weekend, so I don't have anyone to go with at the moment... Don't really want to go on my own, because of lack of experience, so hopefully will find someone to tag along.

The lady I spoke to when I phoned last week didn't have a clue. Would of saved me the hassle of writing a big email trying to get access. Could have a go at some summer carp stalking. Not had a carp on the yak yet...

Nice one Romas. Couple of comments.... Do you have an anchor trolley fitted? You will find that very often when vertical jigging a drogue on the trolley will slow your drift nicely. You may want to look at upgrading your seat to something like a Crazy Creek with a bit more bum cushioning. Long sessions can leave you feeling numb and possibly could if the thin seat gets soaked, as they often do. Next purchase? Fish finder? Terry

Cheers, Terry. I haven't got an anchor troley fitted yet, that's probably going to be my next purchase, along with a drogue and an anchor. The fish finder is definitely on the list, but will have to wait for tax rebate to come through and use the force for now as have my heart set on lowrance elite 7 ti, hopefully can also get WPC discount applied on it Oh wait... I'm still hunting for a second hand c-tug as well as they're a bit dear to buy new... so much stuff still to get

You're right about the seat as well, will test it tomorrow, but it doesn't look like it's going to be very good for a long trip.

Big thumbs up for both the C-Tug and the 7Ti. Good choices and yes make sure you take advantage of the WPC discount it's a massive saving for a top unit.

So finally had my first outing on the ultra 4.1, the weather was not great but enjoyed every second of it. One pike for me and one perch for my mate, but what a stunner

Got soaked with rain loading the kit to the car, then sleet on the motorway, but didn't give up, as was waiting for that for to long we set off around 9am and it was raining almost all the time. The weather cleared later on and we had some sunny spells which were changed by strong gusts of wind and ocasional showers. The waters manager looked a bit sceptical at first but after we showed our kit (which is still pretty basic) and told him a bit about the sport they were well impressed and as we seemed to be well kitted out and well behaved he said he'll let us fish for perch throughout the year with limited size lures and as long as the watter is below 20 degrees now that's a result:)

I'll defiantly be heading there for some perch fishing then!! It's only about 30mins from me. When you next free Romas? Looks like you had a good day, at least you didn't blank. Good going

Well done Rom.
Can you do a little piece in the venues section with all the details of costs and rules.
Every additional water helps others.

Got Sunday the 8th marked on the calendar for fishing so go then if you want? What size lure is the max they're allowing out of the pike season do you know? Might try and get down there this weekend too for a scout about and chat to the baliffs

Should be able to come on the 8th. I think you'd have no problem using 4" lures, they seem to be quite flexible.

Yes Andy, I've told them I'm a member of bcu and they didn't even ask for proof to be honest, I made that good of an impression

I'm not suggesting to try and sneak in, just saying that if you don't look dodgy they're quite relaxed with the regulations

Yes I did. Nothing! Had a couple of takes on dropshotting and lure, saw some nice perch in the margins feet away from me but they weren't having it. It was reall sunny and hot and you could see the bottom in 5ft of water so not the best of conditions. Saw loads of bream, some good sized one's too. I'm not deterred, I'll defiantly be heading back there

Maybe it was just to hot I took my family to the seaside, got the sun loungers out, put the baits out, was there for 6 hours, tried 5 different baits, didn't get a single bite:)
