I hot this from the ever helpful Izzetafox: "Pitsford is open now for lures and fly for pike and perch. No trolling, no fishing within 50 yrs of any structures. Minimum two kayaks. Check wind day before if forecast is more than 15 mph ring ranger to check. Gates open 8 am. I will put something on the forum."

But do they have a closed seazon for pike till October or so, as most of them do, or is it allowed all year round?

As has been said : Pike and Perch fishing on lure and fly is now allowed. Lure size is at the discretion of the angler. With larger lures that are likely to attract pike please use wire traces. Do not be silly and use small spinners, Mepps etc, as you will hit the trout and the Rangers will ban you. If you DO find trout are hitting your lures then either change or move. We have to be seen as model anglers. Some pike anglers on boats have been getting close to structures and fishing in or near the causeway tunnel and the Rangers have jumped on them. DON"T DO IT! I was hoping to go a couple of days ago but Daz had to pull out at the last minute hopefully I will be there again soon. I will post as soon as I know the date. By the way the Rangers are very supportive and may even be getting onto kayaks. Chat with them and consider offering to let them try your kayak. The more we keep them friendly the safer our access is. Terry
