Quick courtesy post to say hello to the forum members, joined today and looking forward to contributing to your wonderful community.
My name is Marty and i live in Monmouthshire. After dropping out of the corporate "normal" job market a year ago I decided to follow a long time ambition and turn my 30yr hobby of building custom fishing rods into a business to support myself and my family. Its hard going at the moment but i'm now happy and poor instead of well off and suicidal!
After getting involved on the rod design side with a couple of really rather nice kayak anglers I now have my eyes set on joining you all afloat, and hope to acquire enough information and kit soon to be able to contribute to the forum.
Apologies in advance for the same numpty questions you've all seen a hundred times before!
Marty.

Welcome Marty. Ask away mate no question is a numpty question. If you need to know something I am sure the lads will gladly help, we were all new to the sport at one time. Terry

Thanks Terry, i'm doing my best to keep quiet at the moment whilst i save up for the kit. If i start asking questions now i'll end up spending money now that i havent got!
(this is like groundhog day, remember exactly the same thing when i bought my first "cheap" boat which turned into a £5k boat in a blink of an eye.

Welcome aboard Marty.
We all had to start somewhere and most of us didn't have membership to a forum in order to buy the right kit so we (deffo me) waste loads of money in buying the wrong gear so ask away and we will try to offer advice although I think we can skip the subject of the 'right ROD'
Phil
