Not aware how many of you use photobucket but there are some changes. I pay about £25 per year for hosting my photos and then being able to post them on forums like this one BUT now they have decided to introduce a charge for hosting photos to a third party such as this forum as an example, the fee is £100 per year to have the ideal 'membership' although it can be done from about £50 but not really best suited. My avatar has been removed as you can see not that it was a great avatar anyway but the principle is there. Just had a look at a recent advert I placed in the sales section which again my avatar has been removed yet the photos from photobucket are still showing. I don't really understand what is going on here, being uless with computers doesn't help either. coarsekayakfishing.proboards.com/thread/1475/daiwa-slosh-20-reelsLooks like it is time to start looking for another place to store and post photos from however is this the start and all other hosting companies will follow Not happy Phil

Yes Phil, I have used photobucket for free and posted reports on other forums too. All pics now gone ! It helped me get into kayak fishing years ago reading reports and info. Going back to threads from past years was very helpful, sometimes a pic can be better than words. Alot of this is lost for people now. There are others still supporting 3rd party hosting , but, as you say they will probably all follow photobucket's lead now ! -- Shame !

It seems a little strange as some people have been hit and others have not. On one of the shooting forums I am involved with, the members are up in arms as loads of them have lost photos and the ability to post them.
As you see, my avatar has gone but at the moment, I can still post photos and I have not signed up for the new scheme nor do I intend to. As soon as my daughter gets back from holiday, we are going to download all the photos into safe storage then look into another site and close my account.
If I were you, I would try to copy off as many photos as you can Ian before you lose them which WILL happen if the experience of others is anything to go by.

TBH Phil I only really use it to enable me to post pictures on forums and not for storage.
If I lose that facility then I will need to find an alternative. If you find one then please let me know.
