Graham, All the typhoons are great suits.....one thing to consider is a 'comfort zip' not essential but convenient. You end up being a contortionist when you need to go without one, I know Ihad to do it on Sunday. Not essential but a 'nice to have'. IMHO you are doing the right thing going for a front zip, others will disgree Oh and I use a lump of bees wax I had from my fly-tieing days to lubricate the zip. The fleece is useful if you are fishing but if you are just out for a days winter paddling it can be a bit too much. Terry

Looking at the front zip for ease of use having had a rear zip one years ago when I used to go diving one thing that I did wonder about is the fabric boots as opposed to latex any thoughts. By the way what do you guys wear on your feet/ under your suit? Cheers Graham

The fabric will be waterproof and probably more durable than latex boots that are susceptible to perishing or 'going sticky' if left stored for any legth of time, I know mine went like it. I have since fitted a pair of wellies using some bl%%dy expensive Bostik glue. ( Second effort). Just wear neoprene boots at the cheap end or boots like thes reviewed on NWKF at £75 zebrakayak.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=itemsontest&action=display&thread=1532Under the suit it is generally considered that thin layers of 'wicking' garments is best. I have one or two pairs of ski socks depending on weather. Only used the fleece baby grow 4 times in 5 Winters. Long johns under jeans work for me. As for gloves I use Aldi neoprene gloves but rarely actually wear them. Best advice seen is to keep hands as dry as possible have a towel or two handy. It is the wet and wind combination that is a killer for my hands, I have never needed them when just puddling, blood flow seems to keep them my hands warm. Terry Terry

I have the typhoon max b and find it perfect for me I will second what terry has said about the comfort zip an absolute must in my opinion, I where a pair of thick walking socks under my suit, the boots i wear are 2 sizes bigger than i actually need, cant read the review terry put up but i have got some palm kola`s for this winter after hearing good things about them. Stu.

Fabric socks won't sweat your feet too much, however and big however, is that as soon as you put your un-booted foot down somewhere you are on your way to wet feet. Fabric socks are really prone to pin prick holes normally caused by grit of some kind. I have been really careful with mine, only putting them on when standing on carpet or putting the boot straight on and they have just started leaking.
Foot hygiene is also important, trimmed toenails, not to much hard skin on your heel and always wear a pair of socks!!
I have ended up with a pair of adidas water trainers to wear while on the water as they are the only thing that offer real arch support. An old pair of trainers would do for a short period bit won't offer any warmth

I have a Typhoon Ezeedon (but with latex feet) and like it a lot. Mine is grey and black and not quite the same model, but very similar and I like the zip. I got it from Wetsuit Outlet and found them very helpful.

I keep a small carpet offcut in the boot of the car to stand on when changing, even a bit of soft grass can have something in it that will puncture the feet. when you get home clean and hang the suit ,but very carfully clean the socks, a TINY bit of grit can do a lot of damage if it is inside when your wearing it. Defo on the the pee zip
