Yes i posted about the points dissapearing and john said its confusing for some Think we`d have been on to a winner with the original points system.

Yeah the original points saw us midlanders potentially bagging up in the fresh water equivalent to portbeagles ) zander.
I still think the potential is there, bream, roach, zander, pike, perch, eel, carp, chub are all achievable. That's 24 points
I doubt some of the salties will get more than 3/4 each.

It's a great idea I am not sure if I can commit to it enough to be a good team member. I saw that Stu, it would indeed be rude to refuse Marks kind offer. I would still be rooting for you as you are both members here too. Terry

Hehe. I reckon we'll do well Stu. You get points for sea AND river, each.
Jan-March I can expect to get cod, dab, whiting, pout with no bother and if I'm comp fishing I may as well go looking for rockling and flounder, the former of which I should be able to find. On the fresh figure on pike, chub, dace, roach, gudgeon, ruffe, perch, bream with possible eel, rudd and stickleback...but I know a spot i've never tried that has bullhead too. Carp are highly unlikely, tench I've never had and the same with Zander. Have a place that might give me goldfish too, especially if I stock them ;D Am I right in thinking that bleak feature up your way?
I think I know who i'll ask for No.3. He does fresh and salt, lives nearby and is self employed so has plenty of time to get afloat ;D
Some of the salties will find it hard pressed to launch let alone catch 3/4 each!

Bleak on the Nene Bullhead might be difficult from the kayak, usually in shallow water under stones time spent there might be better spent on other species. Unless of course you have ' a cunning plan!' My money is on team AKA.....Go for it lads

Cunning plan? I have loads of time ;D I'll fish for them like gobies - pull up in the shallows where it's clear, drop some bait down and watch. Got to go the other side of Bungay for them but may as well.
I know a place with carp and tench in town that I could fish (free) I suppose. Can't fit the scupper in but could hit it on my brother's frenzy maybe. I fished it from the yak board once, early so no-one could take the piss ;D

Do you remember ' The Great Maggot Race' ? When they were fishing garden ponds? There are all sorts to be had orfe, sturgeon....
Along those lines I believe we even have ide in a water near me.

I feel like a lame duck but if you really want me to have a go then OK, but I think the first two quarters we may be weaker the strength will come through in the second half. I haven't re-read the thread but did I see it was weekend only?

Essentially it is anytime in the 3 months after new year, 1 point per species per angler. Top 2 teams each quarter automatically qualify for final quarter.
Neither of us can dedicate much time but I think a pure fresh team would be good and an excuse to target different species than we normally would.

Post by Izzetafox on Nov 17, 2012 13:34:02 GMT
I'm game for a laugh. Does each species qualify just the once per person per quarter?
|
|
|
Post by fenboystu on Nov 17, 2012 13:43:09 GMT
yes you only need to catch 1 of each species per qtr
