I have a wide selection of Slug-go's which I have only used for Bass and pollack has anyone tried these for pike and perch?
Is it worth giving them a go?

those tiny little jellies are very good for zander ,but slow and on the bottom is the only way.

When you say slow is that a cast and twitch back or drop over the side and jig?

cast and twitch along the bottom, small 6" lifts is all , and the takes can be very gentle ! until you strike. Funny enough the best small lure fisherman I know is good mates fishing partner whos Lithuanian, hes very apologetic for eastern fishermen !!, but hes really god at zander, I feel nothing and hes just watching and he,ll say "that was a fish" when I listened and struck at those little touches that feel like your lures ben moved by the current or something like that but soft and smooth I hit a lot more fish .My little boy had a11lb zander at ely but in the relief channel they go even bigger, its a place I,m determined to find out if I can legitimatly fish it or not, its a lovely wide deep bit of water, and the dogs bo****for pike and zander. The firm I work for has just got some waterboard contracts so maybe I,ll make a few contacts, hope so !

I get over to Whittlesey area from time to time but perhaps I am doing it wrong, I really fancy a go at that. I used to fish a lot out towards the Relief Channel in the 70's after the roach and bream. I must have a serious go with plastics for zander I will have to pm you come the Autumn.

Terry Take a look at the Kopyto shads in 2" to 4" sizes, Ive been doing very well on them for pike, perch and zander. Don't be shy with the weight of the jig head either they need to be within a few inches of the bottom especially for the zander with the flow and depth at Farndon ive fished with up to 35g on and if you need more you should'nt be on the river...lol Phil

Iv had a few on the 9" sluggos worked very erratically almost like sink and draw on speed ;D ;D ;D but they are far from prolific for pike if imho

Looks like they will be kept for the bass and I'll go for shad and jig heads

slugo s work for pike terry ..drop shot on wire trace 18in off bottom and jig them back towards you with little pauses and jiggles of the rod tip ...youll just get a sharp tug and lift the rod up and wind ....perch hit them too !good tech is to walk them along side canal walls or along side boats !!
