I have just brought some size 14 circle hooks to try coarse fishing.
Not really sure if they will so any good but it will be interesting to see how they go.
It is just be difficult to not strike. Anyone tried them or got any suggestions?

I used them once Terry, as you say you do not strike, feel them take and tighten the line to solid, Had some success but did not keep up as the only ones I found were barbed and the club I used to be a member of banned barbed hooks. Just drifted back to normal hooks.

just pick the rod up but .....circle hooks are designed for catching fish that swallow the bait ..then as they move away the hook is pulled out of the stomach and if the nouth is closed it will catch top bottom left or right .mowi know some have caught carp on them and we catch a lot of bass on them ..but chub roach dace no i think not . most chub pick up the bait between the lips ..might work for barbel but with the most hookable mouth of all they are not needed . However Terry i am told they are using them for pike .. which do swallow the bait .. i have used them and caught on them for perch but i wasnt happy the holein the perchs membrane of a protrusable mouth was big i didnt like it ..sogreatforlive baiting for bass for fish to be returned .. do not strike , wouldnt bother with silvers or chub , no need for barbel ,apperently work on carp and pike . hope this helps
