Terry cut them out with a powered multi tool like a dremel is that the way you did it, are you using the hot air gun to tidy up the edges? What's the piece of dowel for, sorry to ask so many questions but as you have been there and done it your experience would be of great help. Will keep an eye on your site for the glands won't get round to doing mine till after next week don't think, what sort of price will they be?

No probs
no im a joiner origanly so have lots of tools (router) leaves a factory finish the hot air gun is makig the gorrilar tub soft an flexable so it fits better the dowl is so a little silcon at the edge sticks ,, the marine glands will be just over 15 quid and the white ip60,s will be 2 or 3 quid ,,,hope this helps ,,its good to know some one wants them before ya order coz at least ya can sell one quick and not stuck with them for a while

I was at Al's house while he was doing the work to this kayak.
The hole has been cut with a router which gives a fixed depth to the cut sides.
The bottom two pics are of a trug like the ones you can get from garden centres being inserted into the new holes which offer a huge amount of extra storage space compared to the standard cup. Whilst I did not see Al with the heat gun, I assume that it was for cleaning edges but I think he will confirm that with you.
Once the trug has been measured and cut to the correct depth, you screw it up and push it in the hole, it will then self open more or less back to shape so Al may be helping by applying a little heat whilst the broom handle piece of wood is holding the trug in place.
No doubt that Al will correct me if I am wrong.

the router did the edge just fine like a factory job the heat gun was for the tub to make it soffter and better fitting An easier way to soften the trug is to cut it to size and then let it stand for 10 minutes with boiling hot water in it. Once emptied it can be forced through the hatch and then allowed to cool to the shape of the bottom of the yak for a better fit.

Interested to see you have gone for half trolley to anchor from the bow, is that your preference or the customer's?
Plus I see you don't use a carabiner to the steel loop.

I have not anchored a fatyak from the stern yet ,,so i cant comment or comite to customers doing so,, i know they sit great from the bow so this is what i recomend till further testing is done
i dunno if the oprah winfry ass the fatyaks got will make this a no go but till iv tested it in an 8 knot tide im airing on the side of caution
Tests will be done!!
we make the trolley so it justs clips to the pad eyes and is easy to take on an off ,,we try and keep them simple as we can ,,im sure a more complex design will be made up in time but to keep the quality up and costs down are hard to do

The transom is like my Mysto, deffo not suited to rear anchor and apart from anything else you can see what is coming downstream towards you. On the Humber it could be an oil drum, tree or perhaps a dead cow, I want to look ahead of me and fish uptide if needed.
