I would recommend Loch Awe, a tough nut to crack but fantastic scenery especially at the southern end. A permit can be bought from local outlets quite cheaply.

I think us Sassenachs forget about the wonderful water that is available to paddlers in Scotland.
The scenery is like The Lakes on steroids.
Catching a fish some times is a distraction.
I wanted to paddle Loch Awe when we were up there in May 2011 but is was a little bit windy that week......understatement!!!!! Still beautiful though, just different.

Until you saw them on a stormy day Daz.
Spectacular landscape, never boring.

I'm going on a 'little' road trip to fish Loch Lomond late May, hope its not like this! Packed up in heavy rain last time I was up there some years ago. Just put the tent etc in bin bags and sorted it out when I got home!! 😃

Good Luck Lyn. Lomond is a great place to fish and paddle. Have you seen the event that we have every year in the Autumn on Loch Ken? Great trip good fishing and good company. Terry
