There are many wrecks along the holderness coast and remembering all the names is hard so i give the silly names that i can remember easy The SS Sotee (potato) is a wreck out to sea from Barmston road end She ran aground and broke along time ago the salvage crew removed what they could then blew her up as far as i know Her cargo was explosives and whiskey, great combo no wonder she got into difficult Today we met up at the car park for a day on the wreck on arrival the conditions close in were swelly, but a great day with sun and further out flat calm conditions we launched into the nice clean breakers and headed out to sea the wreck is about 1 mile off shore but the person reading the GPS was reading it upside down because 2 mile out too sea we turned around and headed back toward the potato wreck She lies on the sea bed in around 10 meters of water in several pieces by the way my rig was and second rod i believe i was on top of the wheel house We dropped the anchors and set about bait fishing over her I drew 1st Blood with a coddling around 3 lb and then Neil with one around 4 lb A few big flattys were had and a lot of whiting The sun was strong and quite warming, very much like a summers day we fished the tide all the ebb and then made our way back around 3 pm some pics were taken in the car park and every one was happy not one person blanked

Stoneys phote of the beach does not show what we really.faced trying to get out. Sets of breakers some.maybe 6' high.. of the 6 of us 3 got out ok.then we had to wait 15 mins for a lull, launch and paddle lime mad. One got beyond.the breakers, and then decided to go for a swimin the flat calm bit.
