Well at last we had a break in the weather and phil took me out for my first go in my yak.
aaaaaaaawwwwwwwwsssssssooooooommmmmeeeeeeeee
In one word.I loved it and cannot wait to get out again. Need to sort a few things out which cropped up like where do you put the keys for the car etc lol.
Also i do not have they tray which sits inside the first hatch on my trident ? can you buy replacements.
And i see what you mean about trying the yak before you buy,I am lucky in that phil is a similar build to me and the trident fitted like a glove and went well. But i tried phils new slayer and i was not keen mostly with the weight,I can load my trident on the roof rack pretty easily but i do not think i could do the slayer on my own, Not without a struggle anyway.
all i can say is when is the fat boys wobble paddling olympics bring it on ?

Well done mate.
Keys? I use a small dry bag 6"x6" which is ideal for phone, keys licenses and a fiver for emergencies......you never know when you will pass a nice pub.
You could try The Kayak Shack for the tray but I believe there are problems with OK supplies at the moment.
I love the Slayer but comfort does tend to come at a cost of weight, most of the top kayaks get on the heavy side. This is when 'technique' come into the loading.

Welcome to the club Kell. I spoke to Phil last night and he confirmed that your grin went from ear to ear.
I will have a look at your centre unit when I see you but you cannot buy the inside box but you could fit a plastic flower window box that garden centre's sell or a large trug distorted and fitted into place. Don't jump into anything yet, let me have a look first.

As phil has said i use the smaller trug cut down and pushed in the hatch perfect for the job I also have a link for a homemade tray project if your interested in that route.

Why don't you post it Stu, I think there was one on AA site last year, possibly the same one. Kell I use an Otter fully waterproof box for my keys, phone and smokes. Brilliant item and easy to open and lock. Here they are www.otterbox.com/otterbox-3000-cases/otterbox-3000-cases,default,sc.html You can buy them from Amazon or most marine and kayak dealers and they really are the best. Phil

Kell, just looked on AA site and Snapper has responded to your request for a tray, he has a few at home so get in touch before others snap them up.

Well there is life in the old dog after all. Just met up with him to collect his electric outboard to try on the sea eagle.
Send a PM to snapper and ask him as he knows more about Trident than anyone else in England.
