Lads, This is the time of year when water temperatures can hit rock bottom. We have had a prolonged period of cold weather. People tend to think that sea temperatures are low and dangerous but for the freshwater angler things are much worse. Currently sea temperatures range from 9C in the SW to 5C in the NE. For those of us on Llangorse at the weekend the FF was showing just below 2C and where there was no ripple ice was forming. These are killer temperatures. We need to be especially careful because during the closed season we tend to move off the rivers onto some of the very large inland waters of The Lake District, Scotland and Wales. These are danger spots. So dress correctly and be very, very careful. Terry
