Authanic Wire is a coated braid by the way and is very limp compared to wire trace

I use fox carboflex its not the most flexible but i have never found it to be a problem for pike i always check for kinks before recasting as even the slightest kink severly weakens the strongest wire and could cost you dearly.

I have some of the knot 2 kinky wire it is wierd stuff. You cannot tie proper knots and it has about 1/2 inch of stretch on impact. Very kink resistant.

Nope you have to used a knot but it seems really loose. I have made spinning traces and never had one undo.
I will try and sort them out Daz.

The wierd thing is the tag end that sticks out, it just seems wrong and does snag bits of weed. I did consider using some thin shrink tube to try and cover the knot but never got around to it.

I just use a knotless knot as you would when tying a hair rig. Then just push a rig sleeve over the shank to keep it tidy, works for me and I've not had one fail yet.
