Excellent selection. I have seen some of Phil's flies in the water and the look great and have a lovely action. Terry

I use a 10# Rio Outbound short and Terry uses a 9# Phil OK great. Terry must be a good caster! They look big! I've just got a Rio Pike & Musky #10 Inter, as I've been struggling a bit with my Jim Teeny Big Fly Line on my TFO. Not that the JT is not a good line, just I'm not sure it's is really meant for such big, BIG flies. Unfortunately my day on Chew was blown off yesterday. As two fellas capsized there boat on Sat in the wind. So I haven't used it yet. :-(

A friend of mine has been testing the Teeny lines and his conclusion was that only one was reasonable but then none of them were as good as the RIO outbound lines. I guess it also depends on the action of your rod, I like sharp tip action rods and use a 9' Greys Carnivore 10# which is a nice rod and pushes the RIO line well but I confess distance drops when casting from a kayak but then again distance is not an issue once I have found the buggers.
Phil, I will be in touch via PM.

Jim Teeny and TFO are sort of bed fellows. Teeny has a TFO signature rod by them. My TS350 is a great line on my TFO Ticr X #10 but that Big Fly line doesn't do as good a job. The Rio Pike & Musky feels good while testing in the park. I must admit my heart says Rio but my wallet keeps saying Teeny.
Do you sell your Pike flies?

Daryl, I am still learning mate Biggest thing is the length of the leader when in the kayak. Pike flies are so big it is essential to be able to lift them clear of the water, I have struggled to get them on the surface with a roll cast. I am using a Rio Outbound and a Vision Big Daddy. Terry

Yes I do, most of the flies are £4.00 and the Fish Skull Head flies are £5.00. I normally send the flies out in a plastic box ( chinese take away type) in a jiffy bag which I find gets the flies to people without being crushed and can hold 5or6 flies for approx £2.50. If you want postage cheaper, no box and a lighter envelope and very flat flies for about £1.00 Regarding the Teeny line. I believe the shooting head is shorter on this line than most others, just wondering if it needs far less false casts than perhaps you would think. I have not tried it so no experience just a thought. Phil

I think the Rio Outbound is a no brainer, as its worth the extra money for a good easier casting instead of flogging away with a lesser line. Phil The flies with the detachable heads, whats the weight of the fly with and without the heads.

Phil The flies with the detachable heads, whats the weight of the fly with and without the heads. I don't have any grammes scales but I believe the heads are about 10grms. These can be cast from a light lure rod but obviously not far, I paced it at 15-20 yards depending on wind conditions and on the kayak I suppose it is not so important. Phil

The Pike Shack used to sell them I believe but Simon always put RIO first on performance.
