Saturday, 27th April & Sunday, 28th April 2013
Hosted on Esthwaite Water, Lake District
A freshwater competition specifically organised for kayak anglers.
A new format for this year’s Kayak Grand Slam, multiple fish of same species count towards a teams combined length return, read on!
1 x Pike length per angler (Subject to fish photography rules)
4 x Trout lengths per angler (Subject to fish photography rules)
4 x Perch lengths per angler (Subject to fish photography rules)
Same format as last years Grand Slam, two different species of fish will always beat one species of fish regardless of combined length; three different species of fish will better two different species regardless of combined length. For example;
Angler A: 2 x Pike = 200cm
Angler B: 2 x Trout and 2 x Perch = 150cm
Angler C: 1 x Pike, 1 x Trout and 1 x Perch = 120cm.
Winner = Angler C
2nd = Angler B
3rd = Angler A
Challenge commences at 12 noon on Saturday, 27th April and concludes at 12 noon on Sunday, 28th April (no fishing between dusk and dawn)
This is a LURE, FLY & WORM ONLY COMPETITION; therefore all other baits are not allowed!

Come and enjoy a weekend kayak fishing on Esthwaite Water; a beautiful but challenging Lake District water to fish and experience the GRAND SLAM CHALLENGE!
Questions & Answers Sheet
Q:
How much does it cost to fish, I’m confused?
A:
The standard two fish day ticket cost £24; therefore it would normally cost £48 for the weekend plus entry fee of £5 which equals £54!
The fishery manager has kindly reduced the fishery fees, so the total cost, including entry fee is £50.
Q:
How much do I need to send to you as an entry fee and why?
A:
All competitors need to send me £5 to book onto the Grand Slam. .
Deduct the £5 from the costs detailed above (£50) to calculate the outstanding balance of £45 that needs paying to the fishery manager on Saturday, 27th April between 9:30am and 10:30am at the fishery lodge.
The £5 per non refundable entry fee paid to me will fund the purchases of fish measure tapes (teams can keep the fish measures after the challenge) and trophies. These are all expenses that have to be paid up front by me as an organiser.
Q:
How many places are available before the Grand slam entry closes?
A:
I have restricted entry to thirty kayak anglers.
Q:
Are there any prizes?
A:
At the moment no prizes just high quality trophies for the top three anglers. If any company approaches me and offers prizes they will be gratefully accepted but I have no intensions of canvassing businesses for sponsorship.
Q:
How are the winners decided?
A:
Angler's that catch a Grand Slam (a Perch, Pike & Trout) will then have their final positioned decided on the total length in cm’s; as outlined below.
1 x longest Pike
4 x longest Perch
4 x longest Trout
I hope I have managed to cover the most frequently asked questions.
