That could also make a great place for another meet as well Phil.
I am popping over to see a customer this afternoon on that industrial estate, on Doncaster road.

Hi Al----I know you can't spell ;D Yes you can troll a lure, fish a dead bait or live bait, fly fish or use explosive but not while I am near. Here is the venue www.brandywharfleisurepark.co.uk/location.htmThere is a slipway at the caravan site and they charge £10 for launch and recovery but I have spoken to them on Friday, they will accept a donation but we will wait to see how many are going. There are a few miles between locks so you have plenty of water to play with. There is car parking and toilets on site so the cars are safe. A route is shown on the web site above. We will have to check the day before to establish if the river is ok just in case of heavy rain-------keep your fingers crossed. We have a back up plan if the river is off limits but it will depend on numbers. Please use to link to post on Kayak Shack. Phil

Phildo you have an idea of launch time? I either have to do a school run in the morning or in the afternoon and wifey needs to let her boss know which way round so she can swap hours.
Cheers

Hi Phil, I don't know what time we are launching but Daz says they normally meet around 8am so I assume it will be the same. I am sure Daz or Terry will confirm the meet time as they have a longer journey.

There is a McDonald's at Scunthorpe, J3 on the M180 but it depends which direction you are going to take Daz. If you are coming across country on the A46 Lincoln then A15 towards Scunthorpe, you will have overshot the junction where the McDonald's is located. Have a think about your route and then I will have a look what there is. The McDonald's is about 30mins ish drive to Brandy Wharf. The M1 around Chesterfield at that time in the morning can be a nightmare or you have the A1 which should be alright. Decisions, decisions Phil

Oh cheers for that Alan. Yes gusting 25mph southerly, cloudy but no rain at all next week so the river should not be running much at all. I think it will be ok. If the worst happened, we whiz over to Scunthorpe to a lake which is my back up plan and Daz will like it as there is a McDonald within walking distance. Phil

Phil i shall dine while i drive Phil cures the boredom of crap morning radio do we know how far either way we can fish/paddle ? On the river we have quite a few miles between locks, the furthest being salt water mix but the end we launch at Brandy Wharf is about 2.5 miles from the lock so you have loads of water to go at. The lake in Scunthorpe is about 20-30mins away from Brandy Wharf and is big enough for all of us to get on and fish, I am going for a chuck to the lake tomorrow so I will take a few photos. It is not rutland but I think it is about 8acres and right next to a main road-Morrisons supermarket. If you want to take a look, go on google maps, Scunthorpe, look for J4, M180, follow the A18 almost to the roundabout and you will see the lake on the left. Just managed to get the goole maps photo of the lake---here maps.google.co.uk/maps?hl=en&ll=53.562808,-0.610449&spn=0.008131,0.022724&t=h&z=16 Phil
