Would any of you guys be interested in a weekday mini meet in the North Lincs Humberside area? Target? Pike Week days seem to work better for some people, not ruling out weekends but just thought this would be an option. There are a few lads live up that way so it offers them a chance for us to bore them with our anecdotes, why should we target just the Eastern lads Dates I am looking at frost and snow permitting are Jan 14/15/21/22/23. Let me know your thoughts. Terry

Most likely on the Ancholme. Philpot is making a few enquiries but looks good for a session.

Put this in Google maps: Brandy Wharf, Lincolnshire DN21 Then go to Street View on the road bridge and have a look up and down. Looks very pikey, much like the Fens.

No passports required till you get north of the humber but you might need a local to translate for you. Can't make mid week at the moment it would have to be a weekend.

I'm starting to feel that we northern gentle folk are in for some pith taking me thinks. The venue has a car parking area/ toilets (just ) and a slipway so no climbing down banks. Once I know rough numbers I will contact the caravan site to see if I can get a better rate for launching.
The lake at Scunthorpe Terry is about 5acres with two islands and because the carp boys use it, numbers could be more critical.
I will get more info. I can't do the 14th of Jan, on a speed awareness course------Bl"£$%dy speed cameras.

Just spoken to Brandy Wharf Leisure who said they will probably take a donation for launching/recovery which is spot on but I would say base the prices on a £10 standard fee to be on the safe side. I need to phone the day before to ensure the river is not pulling too much, after very heavy rain, I think they pump some water into the Ancolme but it is not so usual. www.brandywharfleisurepark.co.uk/facilities.htm#launchOnce we know numbers, if the river is out, we can always go the the lake in Scunthorpe which is no further away but I need to know how many are going to ensure we can get onto the lake. Phil, If numbers on your Scunthorpe lake is a problem, Manvers is 35 acres with hot food, toilets and showers available as a back up. Phil
